76 an hour 4 days ago 4 days ago 4 days ago Responsibilities of the MSC Administrative Assistant/Scribe are to document the physician dictated patient history, physical examination, family, social, and past medical history as well as document procedures, lab results, dictated radiographic impressions made by the supervising physician and any other information pertaining to the patient's encounter.
This individual is responsible for performing administrative skills in the Medical Specialty Center environment for both the Medical Director and the MSC Director, including, but not limited to managing and distributing all incoming faxes to MSC and distribution of outstanding/incomplete charts to all MSC providers and running reports in the EHR.
The MSC Administrative Assistant/Scribe will be responsible for becoming familiar with not only Orchard Hospital policies & procedures, but also MSC policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Completion of Medical Terminology and Pharmacology preferred.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; this includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
One year experience preferred but not required.
Current health provider BLS card.
Must possess current driver's license.
Job Requirements:
Accompany physician upon patient interview and examination; Document the physician dictated patient history, including history of present illness, review of symptoms, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications and allergies; Document physical examination findings and procedures as performed by the physician; Document the results of laboratory and radiographic studies as dictated by the physician; Document the correct time of patient care related activities, including physician to physician communication, family communication and re-examination of the patient; When the physician concludes the patient encounter, the physician will review all documentation completed by the Scribe, make any necessary amendments, sign and lock the chart.
The physician is ultimately responsible for documentation of the patient encounter; Scribe will enter all orders and referrals in the electronic health record.
However, all orders for patient care must be communicated by the physician, not the Scribe; Scribes do not participate in any patient care and should refer all requests related to patient care to the physician or nursing staff.
General Administrative as Indicated Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of the team approach to patient care and documentation; Complete and present the medical record in collaboration with the supervising physician; Pursue continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge in the promotion of quality documentation; Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings; Be responsive to improvement opportunities in a positive manner; Arranging for hospital admissions and outside referrals for the physician; Performing computer tasks for the physicians such as AllScripts, LabCorp, LabDAQ, TeleRad, E-Clinical Works, Chart Access, Evident; Communication skills using appropriate medical terminology; Managing and distributing all incoming faxes to MSC on a daily basis; Running reports in the EHR as needed; Assisting providers with outstanding/incomplete charts; Following appropriate legal, ethical, and professional conduct at all times; Communicate in a professional and respectful manner to the supervising physician, ancillary hospital staff and patients; Check Orchard Hospital e-mail a minimum of once each shift and respond appropriately; Listens to voice mail a minimum of twice each scheduled shift and returns patient phone calls on a daily basis.
Maintain a log of all phone calls received and made.
General Clinical as Indicated Recording patient interview, history and chief complaint; Prepare physician for patient encounter by accessing laboratory and radiographic results; Using CPR when required; Practicing OSHA safety standards; Performing accurate, legal, and ethical documentation of all patient care activities at all times.

Orchard Hospital Medical Specialty Center Schedule:
Full Time - 40, Rotating, M-F 0800 to 1700.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
